REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUITABILITY ASSESSMENT

In 2008, The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) conducted the Miami Valley Land Development Suitability Assessment.  It was the final portion of the existing conditions study of “Going Places – An Integrated Land Use Vision for the Miami Valley Region.” The main purpose of this assessment was to examine the regional landscape in a comprehensive manner and to identify developable land that was not currently fully developed and/or protected.

My role in this project was to design the methodology, conduct the analysis, draft the report, and create the supporting maps, graphics, and tables.  To assist with GIS data analysis, I automated the process via ModelBuilder so that data could be readily re-evaluated when new data became available.
